 Manuel Neto (206-C-84, college: San Jacinto CC) and Divaldo MBunga (206-C-85, college: Peninsula JC) refused to join the ongoing national team preparations in Spain citing academic reasons. Both players are currently attending summer classes in their respective colleges in the United States and won't be available for the national team this summer.

 Newly appointed head coach Albert ' Ginguba' Carvalho called-up 19 players for the first phase of preparations to be held in Angola. Carvalho, who is also coaching national-side Petro de Luanda, decided to bring back in veteran players Miguel Lutonda (185-G-71) and Abel Boukar, even though Lutonda declared to retire from the national-team while Boukar did not play in any official game in the last six months.

 Coach Alberto de Carvalho "Ginguba" was on Thursday reappointed to the post of national manager of the senior males basketball team, in view of future commitments. This was announced in Luanda by the chairperson of the Angolan Basketball Federation (FAB), Gustavo da Conceicao, at a ceremony designed to present the three-member technical team.

 1º de Agosto on Saturday beat Atletico Sport Aviacao (ASA) by 93-81 at Rio Seco pavilion, in a second round match (third phase) of the national senior males basketball tournament, group A. In eight games played in the final phase of the competition (final four), 1º de Agosto obtained the same amount of victories. With this win they have 16 points in the first position.

 Tresor Quidome (192-G-80, agency: Interperformances) and his Fribourg once again stopped Lugano in the Finals defending their LNA title. The regular season champions held off the Tigers in the third game of the best-of-five Final series to celebrate the second straight championship in Switzerland. Lugano were the champions two years ago but suffered two straight defeats in the finals against Fribourg. This time Fribourg completed a sweep leaving no chance for Lugano.

 In a night full of slam dunks, and three- points shots and other performances that turned the game in a show, 1 de Agosto defeated Petro de Luanda by 102-90 on Tuesday, at Luanda's Rio Seco Pavilion, and finished on top of the first round of the national basketball senior male championship's final phase. 1 de Agosto ended this round in superiority, with the player Francisco Jordo as best scorer with 25 points, followed by his colleague Kikas Gomes 19, while Carlos Morais scored 17 points.

 O 1 de Agosto beat saterday Atltico Sport Aviao (ASA) by 82-75, in the most important game of round two from final four, with 20 points from Olmpio Cipriano, the best scorer of the game.It was a hard game the ost menfrom 1Agosto Kikas Gomes, Francisco Jordo and Felizardo Ambrsio have great difficulties to bat Idelfonso Quiteculo, the best player from ASA. In the other game, Petro beats Promade Cabinda by 75-52.

 The team of 1 de Agosto reached second position in group A of the second phase of the National Senior Male Basketball Championship with 11 points, after defeating Tuesday evening Interclube by 96-77, in Luanda's Rio Seco pavilion. In the sixth and last round match, 1 de Agosto played well within 48 minutes, which allowed the team's coach, Lus Magalhes, to put on the field Simo Joo and Hermenegildo Santos, who play in junior category. They scored five and seven points, respectively.
