Italian team was presented by the closest reserves but they managed to challenge Algeria and finalize a confident victory. The hosts enjoyed energetic start of the game as they surged ahead. Italy outscored their opponents 24:18 in the starting quarter. The African outfit stayed close in the second period and trailed by just 4 points at halftime.

After the game between arch rivals ASPTT Alger and Mouloudia Club Alger , a fight broke out which was started between players Djillali Canon (190-F-78) (MCA) and Belhoucine (ASPTT) who had a personal dispute already over a year ago. Other players and personnel joined in and the brawl went to be pretty ugly.Now the national basketball federation (FABB) has to hand down harsh punishment on the players and clubs involved in the fight.
