This weekends games fall into the shadow in comparison to the match up between Etoile du Sahel and Stade Nabeulien. Both teams are looking to lock up home court advantage for the Super Playoff and tomorrow's game will ensure just that.
I had a chance to speak to Jamarr Hardy (191-G-83, college: Lenoir CC) about the game tomorrow. Here is what he had to say.
Hey Jamarr, How's is going? Jamarr: 'Good, just resting in my hotel room.'
Last game you told me you scored 9 points was it because the offense was out of sync. Has your team corrected the problem? Jamarr: 'Yes.'
Major or minor changes?
Jamarr: 'Major changes actually, we are planning to have the ball in my hands more, allowing me to create more.'
Has your coach implemented any new plays or tactics... maybe a few tricks to ensure the victory? Jamarr: 'Offensively we changed a little... defensively... we are going to do more zone... Stade Nabeulien has trouble with the zone.
Since the last game was a tough one and considering your history with Nabeul I am going to go out on a very thick limb here and say this is a grudge match between the two powers of Tunisia. Moving forward do you think this game has a large impact on the super playoff? Any sort of momentum you think is up for grabs? Jamarr: 'Yes, home court advantage if we win this.'
And last but not least he most important question: Are you going to emerge victorious tomorrow... power-ess.com needs something good to write about... they probably get tired of writing about ESS's dominance of the Tunisian circuit. 'I hope so, i try to play off my teammates, if we get a good rhythm well definitely win the game.'
Alright thanks Jamarr, Good Luck tomorrow.
This weekend's games will prove very revealing or very complicating toward the formation of the top 4. Hopefully, for basketball fans out there, it is the latter, so we will still see some important basketball in the upcoming games.
The Fight for the Top 4. - Jan 15, 2010 (by Matthew Kyle)
ESS and SN stand alone at the top of the leaderboards with 4 other teams fighting it out for their chance to make it to the top 4. ES Rades was in the hunt the previous week but their loss to EZS most likely will keep them from any further contention. CSC is alone at the bottom with 0 wins and will not pose a factor.

Tomorrow CA plays at ESS and if CA can protect home court advantage they will make a statement towards the top 4 and put themselves in great position to make it. U.S.Monastir hosts Ez-zahra Sports and both teams are in a must win position. Ez-zahra Sports needs to take one from Monastir in order to stay in the race and Monastir needs a win to stay alone in 3rd. Ez-zahra's starting center, Matthew Kyle (211-C-86, college: Yale) was injured in last weeks win against Rades and it will be a game-time decision whether or not he will play. This weekend could prove very interesting or very dissapointing and the race for the top 4 is about to becoming increasingly interesting as the season winds down.
J.S.Kairouan plays CSC and cannot pick tomorrow to play bad because if CSC somehow gets a win JS Kairuan can say bye bye to their top 4 hopes.
SN is always the favorite in every match, but Rades having a new coach and a new found system of play who knows what will happen when the league favorites travel. If Rades' starting point guard Darius Joseph (188-G-86, college: N.Dakota) is out with the groin injury he sustained in the final seconds of last week's match vs Ez-zahra Rades has no shot at winning this one.
