Model Basket Club of Togo Tuesday removed the toga of a none-performing team in the FIBA Africa Champions Club for Men Zone-III qualifiers with a 67-63 points win over NPA Pythons basketball club of Liberia.
The game which is the first win for the Togolese after losing her first two games to Ellan and ASPAC basketball clubs of Benin Republic leaves the Lome-based Model Basket Club side with a game against Kano Pillars basketball club of Nigeria on Thursday.
Pythons on the other hand have lost its second game of the qualifiers and may have had its hope of picking a final round ticket dashed as its two remaining games are against ASPAC of Benin on Thursday and Kano Pillars of Nigeria on Friday at the IRSP gymnase in Ouidah, Benin Republic.

ASPAC on the other hand picked its first victory against Model Basket of Togo on Sunday with a resounding 89-64 points win. ASPAC will Monday (today) play the game of its live with a duel against Nigeria sole representative, Kano Pillars basketball club at the IRSP gymnase, Ouidah by 17.00Hour.
The game which is the second for the Coach Peter Ahmedu tutored ASPAC side and the first for the Nigerian champion, Pillars promises to be the real test for both sides going by the pedigree of the teams.
The elimination series ends on Friday where the two clubs that will represent the zone will emerge to vie for the silverware among the continent best at the final round of the 2009 edition of the FIBA Africa most prestigious club competition in Kigali , Rwanda from December 11 through 20.
