Orleans announced signing of Amary Sy for the next two years. The 28-year old Mali/French forward spent last season with Murcia. Actually he started it in NBDL with the Bakersfield Jam, but in January moved to Spain. For 16 games in ACB, Sy had 5.8 ppg and 4.5 rpg. In NBDL he averaged 15 ppg, 7.3 rpg and 3.5 apg with the Jam.

Amara Sy is a member of Mali National team since 2001. He was one of the best players at the 2009 AfroBasket in Libya. For 9 games at this event Sy collected 15.6 ppg, 7.2 rpg and 2.4 apg. He was awarded with Africabasket.com All-African Championships Honorable Mention.

Bamako, the capital of Mali will host from 18th to 19th July 2010, the XVth Congress of FIBA Africa. The Congress takes place every four years; the previous took place in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso from 15th to 16th July 2006.According to the regulation of the Congress, the working languages will be both French and English. The meeting will be translated simultaneously into the two languages. Each of the 53 National federations will be represented by 2 delegates at the Congress

Mali who will host its first ever FIBA Africas Congress, will also host various meetings of FIBA Africas organs. First, an Executive Committees meeting will be held on 14th July 2010 while the last meeting of the outgoing Central Board will be run from 15th to 16th July 2010.
The last meeting will be the first one of the news elected Central Board on 19th July 2010.
A circular has been sent to all National Federations to remind them about all the disposal planned by the Regulation (See REGULATION OF CONGRESS).

Mamoutou Diarra (200-F-80) has agreed on terms of contract with Roanne. The 29-year-old forward is going to replace Ralph Mims (191-G-85, college: Florida St.) who got injured. Mamoutou Diarra started the season in Air Avellino. He played five games with the Italian team averaging 4.8 points and 1.0 rebounds per appearance.
