Cameroon registered the latest victory at the 21st FIBA Africa Championship for Women to finish 7th on the tournament. The team defeated Madagascar 66:61 as the latter finished on the 8th spot.

Cameroon registered the latest victory at the 21st FIBA Africa Championship for Women to finish 7th on the tournament. The team defeated Madagascar 66:61 as the latter finished on the 8th spot. Cameroon opened the game with 16-9, however brought only 1 point advantage to the break. The Madagascans responded with 21-15 in the second frame for 31:30 at the halftime. The third quarter was decisive in the game as the guests grabbed 22-17 in the ten minutes for the 6-point lead. Madagascar managed to win the last stanza 14-13 but it was not enough for the total success. Madagascar made more fouls than the opponents as they had 25 versus 17. Cameroon was better in steals stats taking 9 against 5. The latter was also better in Rebounds stats. Alina Senken (180-F/C-88) top-scored for the winners with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Vivanne Noah (81) posted 12 points and 10 rebounds, while Gano netted 7. Agne Rasoambolanoro (F/G-84) had a great night with 29 points for the hosts, while Prisca Razananirina (F) added 9.

Madagascar finally broke the silence unloading 23 points in the fourth frame but it was too late to save the encounter. Mozambique rolled to the win at the end. Catia Halar came up with 18 points to lead the charge. Dongue added 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Belinda M'Boma (175-F-82),, Agne Rasoambolanoro (F) and Prisca Razananirina (F) replied with 14 points each in defeat.
