Liberian basketballPythons face Uhuru in LBF final

 NPA Pyhtons and Unuru Kings are through to the grand final of the Liberia Basketball Federation national league. Pyhtons whipped LPRC Oilers in two straight matches in their best out of three semi final play off while Uhuru did same to Dream Team. The final will be play on a best out of five basis which starts this Friday May 9, 2008. In the female division, champion K- Deltas and Commissioners are in the grand final.

 Uhuru Kings basketball team has qualified for the grand final of the Liberia Basketball Federation national league. Uhuru qualified on Saturday after defeating Dream Team twice in their best out of three l in the semi final stage of the competition. LPRC Oiler on Sunday April 27 pinned NPA Pythons 64-63 points in game one of their bes tout of three Semi final. The two teams put up a fine basketball display that kept the crow standing, stouting and singing.

 NPA Pythons and Sensational Flames are back on course for the Liberia Basketball Federation championship. NPA Pythons on Sunday dragged Uhuru Kings 89-50 points in their Big Six qualifier. Python's Willie Prout and Alphonso Kuiah were outstanding for Pythons while Richelieu Allison put up a splendid performance for Uhuru, but could not help his side. Earlier in the day, female champion K-Deltas crushed formerchampion Phoenix 52-48 points.

 A Five men team of sensational Flames basketball team on Saturday April 12, whipped former Liberia Basketball Federation (LBF) champion LPRC Oilers 73-71 points in the Big Six of the LBF national league. Flames led the former champion throught out the entire match with only five players after most of her players decided to boycott the match for reason best known to themselves according to Deputy Coach Victor Ballah.

On Friday April 4, Flames went down to Uhuru Kings 45-64 in the first division while Wildcats fell to Cardinal 78-79 points in a tense encountert in the second division and in another second division battle, Sacbase whipped Cestor Mogars 59-55 points.

 Liberia Basketball Federation champion NPA Pythons has lost two straight matches in row in the big six in the first division of the national league. Pythons forfeited to sensational Flames on Friday March 28,2008 after the team refused to let one of her players Emmanuel Potter leave the court. The LBF action was due to alleged statement was to officials on the table during a match in the league.

 Several teams have qualified for the second round of the Liberia Basketball Association national league. Those qualified in the first division are NPA Pythons, LPRC oilers, Uhuru Kings and Mighty Barrolle. The rest Dream Team and Flames and in the female division, champion K-Deltas, Phoenix, Survivors and Commissioners are through. The rest are Destiny Queens and Rockers Angels Shooters.

 NPA Pyhtons bounced back last weekend to beat Uhuru Kings 84-78 points in a tense match that was characterized by fist fight and injuries. Uhuru led Pythons in three quarters and lost in the last seven minutes of the match.Python's Mark Smith receives head injuries in the dyingminutes of the match after he was challenged by Uhuru King's Richelieu Allison in a lay out process. Earlier on Saturday, in the female division, former female champion Phoenix buried TIimber wolves 52-22 points.
