 Al Ittihad managed to beat Al Ahli Tripoli in the final game to clinch their 17th league title in club history. the game was played in Nelson Mandela Gym. in Zwara , Although it was not a high score game but it was exciting, Al Ittihad managed to take the lead only in the forth quarter.

 The last week of the league competition was on friday ,with two teams sharing the top spot Al Ahli Tripoli and Al Ittihad played their last games with hopes of a surprise loss to the other team, Al Ahli Tripoli had an easy game against Al Yarmook one of the bottom teams in the league and they had no problems in the game crushing Al Yarmook (70-29).

 Four games were played in this round : Al Ahli Tripoli - Al Wahda 82-51 Al Ittihad - Al Shabab 81-84 Naser - Al Morog 65-56 Ahli Benghazi - Al Hilal 60-44 Al Shabab - Al Ittihad game was so far the most exciting this season , after shabab lost their chances to win the league title , they are now trying to focus on the Cup competition and win it for the third

 With two more weeks remaining Ittihad and Ahli Tripoli continue sharing the first spot , Ittihad defeated Hilal while Ahli Tripoli beat Naser the defending league champion to make them lose their chance of a back to back championship and put the pressure on Ittihad with two difficult games ahead of them. meanwhile a win for Shabab over Ahli Benghazi keeps their championship hopes alive.

 three games were played in this round : Jazera - Madina 69-57 Naser - Tahade 95-74 Shabab - Wahda 86-68 with these results Madina and Tahade suffered their second loss thus they were knocked out from the cup competition.

 Two valuable road victories for Ahli Tripoli and Ittihad made them continue their race for the title and with 3 weeks left it is sure that the competition between the two teams is getting stronger, meanwhile an easy home win for Shabab and Naser to keep their championship dreams alive and hope for an upset loss to the leading teams.

 The Libyan national cup goes by the name ( AL FATEH Cup ), it uses a two-loss knockout system this means any team loses two games will be eliminated, it consists of a 12 teams divided into two groups, group 1 ( Shabab , Jazera , Wahda , Yarmook , Ahli Tripoli , Madina , Ittihad ) , group 2 ( Ahli Benghazi , Naser , Moroj , Hilal , Tahade ). the first round were played on (27-28 \ May\2008) and the second round were played on ( 3\ June\2008).

 The results of week 18 of the libyan league were as follows : Jazera - Ahli Tripoli 56-63 Shabab - Ittihad 70-79 Yarmok - Madina 57-83 Tahade - Ahli Benghazi 52-83 Wahda - Hilal 56-67 Moroj - Naser 64-69 with these results Ittihad and Ahli Tripoli continues their race to the title , while Wahda suffered their 18th straight loss.

 There were only two games played yesterday in the round 19. Jazera - Ahli Tripoli 56-63 at Nelson Mandela Sports Gym. , Zwara Ittihad - Shabab 79-70 at Cortoba Sports Gym. ,Tripoli The game between Ittihad and defending champion Shabab could be called game of the season for both teams. The stake was very high as many experts predict it could be almost championship final game. There were no surprises as it was actually the best game of this season so far.
