The score at the end of 1st quarter was 20 - 18, 2nd quarter 34 - 32, 3rd quarter 46 - 40 but with just 40 secs left, CSA came in a rush with spectacular display of skills and team work and took control of the game. ABC's last seconds attemt to recover was too late as the game ended 54 - 55 in favour of CSA.
In Another develpment, ABC men retaliated by beating ZENITH 60 - 53 in a game that saw the introduction of a new player ALI HACHOUCH (Guard 1.90cm, 85kg,) from Lebanon club WAFAA.

The present board lead by Pastor Kore Moise is working very hard to secure sponsorship for the league and also have a better organization.

The talented 6-4 guard/forward, who preps currently at well-known Brewster Prep on the east coast, signed a letter of intent to play the 2008-2009 season at Brigham Young University in Utah.
He started his high school-career in Logan,Utah so he is already known to the staff at BYU and the area as well.We wish this kid also a career in the Elephants-national team in the future and a great career on the collegiate-level.

Primero De Agosto basketball club has at the weekend was crowned the new King of Africa club competition after beating arch rival, Petro Atletico basketball club in the grand finale of the 22nd FIBA Africa Champions Cup for men decided at the Cidadela Pavilion, Luanda, Angola by 61-53 point's victory.

Agosto who lost to Petro in the 2006 edition of the Champions Cup in Lagos, Nigeria showed lots of determination to win the title which it did in grand style right from the group stage of the competition, the last on the calendar of the continental ruling body, FIBA Africa as it demolished team after team to set the stage for last Saturday final against Petro who signed up one of Agosto reliable players, Victor Muzadi in what was termed as the mother-of-all-transfer in the history of Angolan basketball.
The more determined Agosto took a comprehensive lead in the first three quarters (19-17, 14-08 and 14-12) leaving the fourth quarter to its opponent 16-14 points has it has ensure that victory has been sealed.
Abidjan Basketball Club put up a big fight to defeat Interclube in the position third and fourth position by 60-56 points.
Interclube took an early lead of 13-08 points in the first quarter but bow to the Ivorian in the second quarter by 16-13 points to end the first half with a 26-21 points lead, the Angolan side also rally to a third quarter win of 20-16 but again bowed to the superiority of ABC who put up a big showing for FIBA Africa zone-3 with a 20-10 points win in the last quarter to snatch victory at 60-56 points to finish third, while Nigeria Niger Potters finish the championship in fifth position with a 93-74 points win over APR of Rwanda.

The two sides are drawn in the same group with defending champion, Petro Atletico basketball club of Angola who is ranked topped in the group which also have Stade Malien of Bamako, BC Onatra of Democratic Republic of Congo and Ferroviario Da Beira of Mozambique.

According to an impeccable source close to the Abidjan-based side, the management of the Ivorian league champion rose from a crucial meeting after the zone-3 qualifiers where the club lost to Nigeria's Niger Potters basketball club and resolve to strengthened the side ahead the final phase of the championship billed for Angola cities of Luanda, Huambo and Cabinda.
The two Nigerian recruited by the side for the big task ahead both played in the forward line, Dennis Ebikoro of Ebun Comets basketball club and Kevin Ninmol Nambam of Plateau Peaks basketball club and are bring wealth of experience to the side.
Ebikoro, who plays in the small forward and power forward position, is not new to the Champions Cup terrain as he has been through it with his Nigeria side in 2004 in Cairo, Egypt and during the 2006 qualifiers held in Abidjan while Nambam a centre has seen lots of top flight basketball actions in the past.
With the addition, A.B.C is said to be ready to challenge for honours against defending champion, Petro Atletico of Luanda and other top clubs who will be on parade from December 13 though 22 when hostilities began.

The donation ceremony took place in the conference room of the Ministry of Sports and Leisure in Ouagadougou with the country's Sports and Leisure Minister, Jean Pierre Palm in attendance.
The ball handling over was done by the Secretary General of FIBA Africa, Dr. Bile to the FIBA frica Zone-3 country led by its Vice-President Yameogo Souleymane and other guests.
FIBA Africa Secretary General says the donation are part of developing actions to African National Federations which started years ago and will be intensified.
Through these aids to FEBBA, FIBA Africa intends to promote and develop Basketball practice in Burkina Faso.
Program of assistance to the national Basketball federations in sports equipments launched by FIBA Africa is made annually and will extend to all African Basketball federations.
The programme which began in 2003 with 24 countries are part of the programme of assistance among which 15 have already received their balls and other form of assistance from the continent basketball ruling body.
