Mohamed Camara (196-F-83) scored 17 points to lead Guinea-Bissau to the victory. The African team set the tone early rushing in front in the opening quarter. They won it by 21 points to stay safe. Guinea-Bissau notched 27 points in the second quarter and arrived at halftime leading by 33 points. The complexion of the game did not change in the second half. Guinea-Bissau rolled confidently and ensured an insurmountable 42-point buffer before the fourth period. Macao fired 20 points in the final stanza but still could not match their opponents effort and had to surrender at the end. Franklim Furtado (198-F-87) and Josimar Cardoso (201-F-87) had 11 points apiece for Guinea-Bissau. Ba Mustafa and Luis Pinhel contributed 10 points each in the win. Lei Pang responded with 20 points. Lao Fong canned 12 points for Macao in defeat. Guinea-Bissau outrebounded their opponents 49:21 and forced them to 31 turnovers in the loss.

Brazilian National Team posted the second consecutive victory at the Lusophony Games in Portugal. They overwhelmed Guinea-Bissau in Lisbon to advance into the semifinal stage of the tournament. Brazil will play against Angola on Saturday. Guinea-Bissau will take on Macao for the 5th-6th spot later tonight.

Brazilian National Team posted the second consecutive victory at the Lusophony Games in Portugal. They overwhelmed Guinea-Bissau in Lisbon to advance into the semifinal stage of the tournament. Brazil will play against Angola on Saturday. Guinea-Bissau will take on Macao for the 5th-6th spot later tonight. Brazil dominated from start to finish in this one. They cruised to a 29:9 lead after ten minutes of action. Guinea-Bissau tried to match their opponents in the second period and scored 13 points but it was not enough to threaten the margin. Moreover the Latin American team built a 30-point lead at halftime. Brazil rolled confidently in the third frame taking a 45-point advantage into the fourth stanza. A Jose Neto team finished off their opponents in the fourth quarter to stay undefeated in Lisbon. Alexandre Nascimento (202-F-83) came up with 23 points and 8 boards for Brazil. Paulo Prestes (209-C-88) added 10 points, while four other players scored 8 points in the win. Josimar Cardoso (201-F-87) responded with 11 points and 5 boards for Guinea-Bissau. Francisco Rodrigues (192-G-78) had 8 points in the loss.
