Guinea Bissau finishes Qualifiers zone II with three other teams participating. Guinea Bissau lost all six games but looked well in the court.

Mali started with 15-5 and never looked behind after. They enjoyed the lead in the court and dominated it from the beginning until the end. Amara Sy (202-F-81) stepped up with 20 points for the winners. In the last game of the tournament Guinea Bissau lost to Cape Verde 74:106. The latter led 41:34 at the halftime and pushed the tempo in the second half. Senegal won all the games to triumph at the Qualifiers zone II. In the last game Senegal outscored Mali 67:64 for the perfect record. Senegalese began the game very well, and with a good midrange address and their aggressiveness on both sides of the court, them led to the score almost during all the match. Mali played without their leader Amara Sy. Both Senegal and Mali will represent zone II in African games and Afrobasket.

Guinea Bissau lost the third game in Dakar to drop at 0-3 at the FIBA Africa Zone-II Qualifiers. Cape Verde rolled over the opponents 87:66 for 1-2 record.
Although Cape Verde started better and took 14:8 lead, Guinea Bissau reduced to 18:17 after the first 10 minutes. The difference remained the same as the teams finished15 minutes of the game, while Guinea Bissau tied the game at 32:32 at the halftime

Although Cape Verde started better and took 14:8 lead, Guinea Bissau reduced to 18:17 after the first 10 minutes. Ivan Almeida (198-G-89, college: Stonehill) erupted with 35 points, 11 assists and 8 rebounds. Joel Almeida (195-F-85, college: Brockport St.) notched 17, while Mendonca nailed 9. Faty posted 8, while Da Cruz added 7. Cardoso ended up with 18 points and 12 rebounds in defeat. Almeida Fortunato netted 13, while Tanunde Keita (93), Franklim Furtado (198-F-87), Mendez Antonio and Sisto Martinho (93) added 6 each. The third quarter however became decisive in the game as Cape Verde opened it with 17-2 run. The reached 49:34 after 25 minutes and had 65:49 lead after three quarters. Cape Verde enjoyed 73:56 with 5 minutes in the game and benefit from the game. In another game of the group Senegal improved to 3-0 record at the FIBA Africa Zone-II Qualifiers. The team handed Mali their first loss beating them 66:44.
