The Dragons overcame their archrivals in the decisive seventh game of the title series to dethrone Benfica and claim the LPB title. Sean Ogirri came up with 25 points to pace Porto to the triumph. The Dragons grabbed the lead from the start. Porto posted a 21:17 advantage after ten minutes. The hosts maintained it throughout the second frame. Porto arrived at the interval up by 5 points 43:38. Things got even better for Porto in the third stanza. They cleared off to an 11-point distance 66:55 with one quarter remaining. Porto wisely kept Benfica at distance throughout the final term to clinch the historic victory at the end. Gregory Stempin produced 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Julian Terrell finished with 11 points for the winners. Marquin Chandler and Heshimu Evans answered with 16 points each for Benfica. Ben Reed accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

The U18 super cup game was between ABC and Bairro.
Bairro dominated the entire game, with the final score reading 61 to 23
Another highlight of this year championship, is the 24 second clock, which was damaged, and recently offered to the CV Federation by FIBAl. The clock, brand new, was much need, as it will give more quality to the championship games, which kicks off next week-end, with teams from the Bairro, Seven Stars, Predio and ABC. [read more]

Predio CVT started the season in the best way, by winning the Super Cup with a victory over the Seven Stars by 66-60. The two teams showed the lack fitness, and team play that comes with sufficient practice and games. Seven started the game well, and took a lead in the first period 20 - 14, taking advantage of the fast break points. Using the experience of Vitocas and Lamine , Predio CVT was able to close the gap, and finish the half trailing 29 - 25 [read more]

And that's what continued iIn the third quarter of the game, Predio CVT was led by their experience players, and and turned the game over, and took the lead 47 - 38 at the end of the third period. Seven stars, missed the contributions of their best players, Seiko and Patrick, who sat out the third quater in foul trouble. In the fourth quater, emotions ran high, and took over the players, who began to commit many mistakes on both end of the floors, for both teams. However, Predio CVT was able to hold on, and finalised on some key basket down the strech, to win the game 66 to 60.
