My name is Alexandre N'Kembe, I am 31 years old, measures 1m97 for 98 kg. I play small forward. I think I am a complete player in defense as in offense. I am a physical and very aggressive player. I began playing basketball at 14 years old on playgrounds in Parisian suburb then everything went fast. I signed my first pro contract for CSP Limoges ( proA ) at 19 years. Afterward, I have played seasons in ProA and ProB. Then in National 1 to have more offensive responsibilities. Before joining clubs of National 2 with ambitions of rise, to have new challenges. These various clubs allowed me to play in Europe with Limoges, to play play-offs ProB with Quimper, being All-Star N1 with Bondy, to take away a title in Bercy in Troph Coupe de france with Souffelweyersheim (with the title of MVP of final), and to obtain a rise in N1 the same season while being vice Champion of France N2. I am also international Cameroonian since 2002 and was part of the team that was Vice champion of Africa in ANGOLA. I also have a web site called NKEMBE.COM since 2005. All in all, I have played for 11 clubs in 12 years of career. In brief, I have a long resume.
2) How was your season from a personal and sports point of view?
It was a very good season. We only had 2 defeats. We beat a team of Pro A (JDA Dijon) in the French Cup. And obtained the rise in N1 by crushing team Garonne by 47 points to obtain the entry long-awaited by the club. And in all these results, I had a major role because I am one of the leaders of this team. Thus a completely satisfying season.
3) What about your situation concerning the next season?
I am still sub-contract thus I pursue the adventure with Souffelweyersheim in N1. I have of excellent relationship with the coach and the staff, all goes for best.
4) What will be the objectives of the club at this level? And yours?
For the club, it is to stay in this division. It is our first season at this level, so the staff wants to be careful. Later, appetite comes with eating. Thus if the victories accumulate, why not to try to hang on a place in play-offs to play the entry in ProB. My personal goals are to help at best my team to reach the teams goals. And to continue to bring my experience . I know that it is a championship where I could better express myself because the game is more physical than in N2. Consequently, I indeed wish to take full advantage of it.
5) What do you think of the basketball development in Cameroon?
The training in Cameroon improves yearly. It is better and better. It is to be underlined because it is not simple to exist next to a federation as powerful and dominant as Football. Talking about the level of the basketball in Cameroon, it also improves. Slowly but surely. The physical qualities of Cameroonians are exploited well in the country, even if the structures make default.
6) Concerning the national team, are there any regrets with this fourth place?
Enormously. Cameroon does have widely the potential to be systematically in 2 better nations of Africa. I followed the results with my friend of always Joachim Ekanga.
7) What was lacking?
I think that the preparation was not sufficient. In a competition like the CAN, we cannot make things halfway. It is necessary to put the financial means to play the leading roles. We cannot repeat the blow that happened in Angola, every time That is not possible. I think frankly that a big country as Cameroon does have space for two big federations. Thank you Alex, we wish you the best for the upcoming season. By Clement Hofbauer.

1/Hello Brice, can you please introduce yourself and summarize your basketball past.
I am Brice Vounang (202-F/C-82, college: San Diego), member of the Cameroonian national team, evolving in France. I started playing basketball in Cameroon, which I left in 2001 for the United States. I had been recruited by Jimmy Voight to Eastern Oklahoma State Collge, a Junior College where I spent 2 years before transferring in 2003 to the university of San Diego for my last 2 years of University. In 2005, I began my professional career in Belgium with the Club of Pepinster; then I continued in France with Rouen in 2006-2008, then a season with Charleville in 2008-2009; and now in Brest.
2/ How was your season from a personal point of view?
It was a catastrophic season for me, personally and sportively; I injured myself in the beginning of season, and it was the beginning of the wreck. Returned at the end of season for the last 7 games, but it was not enough as the Club was not able to stay at he same level.
3/ To this day, is your situation with the club set concerning next season?
I am not set for the next season.
4 / what will be the objectives of the club?
Obviously to bounce as fast as possible;
5/ Let's change places, What do you think about the training and the general level of play in Cameroon?
I think that Cameroon has more and more good players in the USA and in many championships in spite of the limited means we have . The level is rather good in Cameroon , but with the exit of all the players towards the USA and somewhere else, it is difficult to maintain a good level.
6/Concerning the national team I know the importance which this one has for you, having discussed it with some players, are there any regrets with this 4th place?
Yes I have regrets, we did not achieve what we wanted to do; but afterward, considering everythings that happened with the team in this competition, the 4th Places was honorable for us. I guarantee that we did not even deserve this place.
7/ What was lacking?
The team missed its Head Coach, who was prevented for personal reasons. We were like a Boat navigating without his Captain.
Thank you for your time and well known sincerity Brice. We wish you the best for the upcoming season.
