 The preparation phase and the participation of African silver-medalist Cameroon in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament in July this year is still in doubt as there are still no news if there will be a financial backing from the government, according to head-coach Lazare Lazare Adingono who mailed me some days ago.

 The national university games took place at Douala from the 19 to the 26 of March 2008.With all the universities of the country and several high schools. This is the standing at the end. 1- UNIVERSITY of Yaounde II 2-University of Douala 3-IAI BANGA of IAI was the best scorer of the tournament and MBIDA of Yaounde II was elected MVP of the tournament. The university of Yaounde I was disqualified for the final because they have put a non student on their roster.

 Luc Richard Mbah a Moute (200-G/F-88) announced today that he would make himself eligible for the 2008 NBA Draft, but will not hire an agent, thus leaving opened the possibility to come back next year as a senior. Mbah A Moute said he 'felt it was in his best interest to see what the NBA has to offer.' Coach Ben Howland, described Mbah A Moute as the 'the most versatile defensive player' he has 'ever coached' and 'supports him exploring his opportunity to play in the NBA.

 UCLA have play the final four for the third consecutive years. Unfortunately there have lost at the semifinal for the second consecutive year in front of Menphis 78-63. Our countrymen who are the first africans to take part at three consecutives final four were involved in this game ; LUC RICHARD MBAH a MOUTE score 12 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in 34 minutes and Alfred Aboya played just 6 minutes score two points and grabbed one rebound.

 The season have really started littoral and centre provinces.In the littoral province the championship is lead by ECOLE DE BASKET and Phoenix and in the center province the championship is lead by BEAC of yaounde. But the big news now in the country is the 'SUSPENSION' of our federation by the FIBA.

 As of March 29th, only two Cameroonians players will be carrying the National triangle's colors in the remainder of the NCAA Tournament competition. Villanova University of Frank Tchuisi (203-F/C-86) and Western Kentucky of Boris Siakam (201-F) (201-F) (201-F) were defeated respectively by Kansas University and UCLA.

 Of the 6 Cameroonian players who were officially partaking to the NCAA Tournament on friday 19th, 5 will have the privilege to compete with their team in the Sweet 16. Boris Siakam (201-F) and the Hilltoppers of Western Kentucky had the remedy to the adversity that San Diego University opposed them today, and beat the torreros by the final score of 72 to 63. Western Kentucky is having a fabulous run thus far, advancing the to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 15 years.

 The second round of the NCAA tournament is following its course and UNLV of Beas Hamga (213-C) is already out of the run for the NCAA Tournament title. UNLV lost to Kentucky University on the 21st by the score of 56-75. Beas Hamga should make his official debut with UNLV next season off his 2007-2008 redshirt season. UCLA on the other hand had more success against Texas A&M on the same day.
