The Algerian National Team finished out there performance at the Arab Games with a win against Kuwait, Algeria lost Canon Djilali before the competition and then suffered 3 more losses due to injury as the tournament was played. In the end, a key point quard and their 3 best perimeter players were unable to play
Their performance in the friendly matches played before the tournament was another affirmation that there is new direction under Coach Sean Whalen -an American import

The Algerian National Team finished out there performance at the Arab Games with a win against Kuwait, Algeria lost Canon Djilali before the competition and then suffered 3 more losses due to injury as the tournament was played. The team led the tournament in defense (points allowed) and kept oppositions field goal percentage at the lowest in the Arab Games. Positives for the team were Benzegalas offensive production and Esseghirs presence as an interior force at the international level. The side also added Mr. Bilal to the coaching staff, a talented coach with plenty of international experience.

Algeria is placed 5th, while Kuwait finishes 6th at Pan Arab Games in Doha. The African team grabbed 92:79 victory in the last game for both teams.
Algeria took 25-22 after the first 10 minutes and erupted in the second frame. The African team added 29-16 in the quarter for 16-point advantage at the halftime. Kuwait however was too far to give up and reduced the gap after 24-12 in the third period. Only due to 26-17 in the last stanza Algeria managed to take the win
